Paul has 20 years management advisory experience with Bain and Company, E&Y and more recently Capgemini, where he led the UK & European Transaction Services Practices. Paul founded and led leading South African strategy consultancy, Burlington. He has worked in London, Europe, Singapore, Sydney, Seattle and Johannesburg.
Paul's experience covers a wide variety of industries, but is focused on a 'growth outcome' capability set; specifically, Corporate Strategy, Transaction Services, and Operations Improvement.
It is noteworthy that Paul has worked to deliver 200 discrete transaction assignments.
Paul holds BA, LLB, and MBA from the University of Cape Town.
Nick Schultz
Nick, a RAND Strategy Partner, has more than thirteen years' advisory experience and has led a wide range of engagements, including transaction analysis, corporate and customer strategy and operations improvement. Nick has worked with an array of leading South African and international investment clients on assignments across the private equity value chain, from fund mandate development and return modelling, sector and acquisition screening, and business plan development to post-investment value creation and exit preparation.
He has experience in numerous African markets, including Morocco, Nigeria, Ghana, Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia, Botswana and Mozambique. Nick holds a B.Sc (Honours) in Electrical Engineering from the University of Cape Town.
Evan Hobson
Evan, an Associate Partner at RAND Strategy with ten years’ consulting experience, has worked on a variety of projects ranging from fund mandate development and commercial due diligence to strategic reviews and operational improvement implementation. His industry exposure includes, among others, agriculture, fast moving consumer goods, industrial services, automotive, insurance, telecommunications and waste management.
He has an emphasis on financial modelling, having completed revenue forecasts for markets ranging from South African plumbing, automotive and tyre, to Southern African trade flows and logistics, and consumer goods within Nigeria and Mozambique. In addition, he has undertaken numerous enterprise-wide cash flow and PE valuation models, and has a specialty in investment fund return modelling.
Evan holds a B.Bus Sci in Actuarial Science (University of Cape Town) specialising in Quantitative Finance.
